5/7/2026 8:02:00 PM

STOCKTON, Calif. – Fort Lewis men's golfer Traejan Andrews fired off an even par of 72 to kick off the NCAA West South-Central Regional on Thursday afternoon, good enough to reside in T-29 after the first of three rounds at The Reserve at Spanos Park out on the West Coast.

In his first trip around the 7,082-yard, par-72 course, Andrews, ranked No. 122 on the SCOREBOARD Division II individual rankings, kicked off the tournament with a 37 on the front nine. While he birdied the 554-yard, par four hole five, he slipped up a few holes later, scoring a double-bogey on the 182-yard, par three hole four.

Later across the back nine, Andrews recorded four pars across five holes, including a birdie on the 519-yard, par five hole 11, before putting up a bogey on the 179-yard par three hole 15, and another birdie on the 535-yard, par five hole 16, resulting in a two-under-par 35 across the back nine to finish at level par.

In total, Andrews' three birdies, 13 pars, one bogey, and one double bogey, had the redshirt junior averaging scores of 3.75 on par threes, an even 4.0 on par fours, and an under-par 4.25 on par fives. He sits one stroke back from the top 20, two strokes from the top 10, and six strokes back from the lead.

No. 26-ranked Western Washington University, the 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champions, resides in first-place on the team leaderboard after recently capturing the program's 12th conference championship title. The Vikings combined for a five-under 283 to hold a one-stroke lead over No. 19 West Texas A&M University and the Buffaloes 284 (-4).

On the individual leaderboard, No. 67 California State University San Marcos' redshirt freshman Liam Weaver, ranked No. 220 nationally individually, paces the pack by two strokes after a phenomenal bogey-free six-under 66. In total, only 28 of the 108 individuals finished below par.
