DURANGO, Colo. – June 12, 2017 – Five former student-athletes and one administrator have been selected to the 2017 Fort Lewis College Department of Athletics Hall of Fame, as voted on by the FLC Hall of Fame selection committee. Brianne (Lippoldt) Nelson (cross country),

Reed Duvall (football), Tim Bieri (basketball), Nicole (Shcwab) Ohlinger (volleyball) and administrator Jack Llewellyn will be the newest members to join the Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15 as part of the Skyhawks Homecoming Weekend. The event will begin at 10 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. To RSVP, click

Steve Stovall will also be recognized at the ceremony when he receives the Special Achievement Citation for his efforts and support to Fort Lewis College athletics.
Brianne (Lippoldt) Nelson
A 2003 All-American, Brianne (Lippoldt) Nelson finished 14
th overall at the NCAA Championship meet in 2003, the highest finish ever by any FLC cross country runner. She earned All-North Central honors in 2003 after finishing eighth at the regional race. Nelson holds three of the top four 6K times, and the eighth fastest 5K time (18:18, Oct. 12, 2002, Greeley, Colo.). Her fastest 6K time at FLC of 21:38 was recorded on Oct. 25, 2003 in Alamosa, Colo.
Nelson currently races on the 10-event USATF Running Circuit for Boulder Running Company/Adidas Race Team. Last year she finished 28
th at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. In 2015, she took second in the USA Half Marathon (1:10:16) and third in both the national championship marathon and the USA 20K. In 2014, she ran two 2:34 marathons.
Nelson and her husband, Ryan, reside in Golden, Colo. with their two daughters, Riley and Reese.
From Naperville, Ill., Nelson was selected to the Hall of Fame in 2016, but was unable to attend due to a race conflict.
"I didn't start running competitively until my second year at FLC," said Nelson. "I didn't know at the time how much running would change my life. I owe a lot to my early coaches, specifically Ken Flint, for giving me a foundation to build my career on. I am honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and credit much of my success on the lessons I learned at FLC."
Jamal Allen
The top receiver in program history,
Jamal Allen played for the Skyhawks from 1999-2002. He is the all-time leading receiver with 238 receptions for 2,640 yards and 14 touchdowns. In 44 career games, he averaged 11.1 yards per catch. He ranks third all-time in kickoff return yards with 1,478 on 27 returns (17.7 yards per return). Allen's 92 points from 15 touchdowns and a two-point conversion are tied for the 13
th-most points in history.
A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., he led all NCAA Division II players in 2001 with 106 receptions. In four years, he posted 10 100-plus receiving yard games, including four straight games from Oct. 26, 2002 to Nov. 16, 2002. Allen tallied 33 consecutive games catching a pass and six straight games with a touchdown reception (Aug. 30, 2002 to Oct. 5, 2002).
As a junior in 2001, Allen earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, as well as first team all-region, first team All-RMAC and was named the team's Most Valuable Player. As a senior, he garnered second team All-RMAC accolades, ranking fifth in Division II with 80 receptions.
He and his wife, Jami, have two sons – Houston and Kingston – and are expecting a daughter in August. The Director of Program Management at Entrust Energy, the Allens reside in Houston, Texas.
"This is a tremendous honor to be selected into the FLC Athletic Hall of Fame," said Allen. "It could not have been possible without the great support and effort from my family, coaches, and especially my teammates. I want to thank all those who helped make this recognition possible."
Madison Reed Duvall
A two-sport student-athlete in men's soccer (2002) and football (2001, 2004-06), Madison
Reed Duvall competed in a total of 32 games for the Skyhawks (nine on offense in 2001, 23 on defense from 2004-06), accounting for 105 solo tackles and 92 assisted tackles (202 total). He is the all-time punt return leader in program history with 22 punt returns for 704 yards and two touchdowns. He ranks 17
th all-time in kickoff returns for 477 yards on 23 returns.
An All-America Honorable Mention performer, Duvall earned all-region first team honors twice and all-region second team honors once. The RMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2005, he was chosen to the All-Colorado First Team and All-RMAC First Team in 2005 and 2006. As a freshman, he earned RMAC Honorable Mention accolades as a special teams player. The 2006 RMAC Defensive Preseason Player of the Year and RMAC Special Teams Player of the Year, Duvall earned RMAC All-Academic accolades twice while being named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week three times, the team's Most Valuable Player and to the FLC All-Century Team.
Duvall graduated from FLC in 2007 with a degree in Accounting.
The Chief Financial Officer for Crossfire, LLC, Duvall and his wife, Kelly, have two children (son-Harold, daughter-Ryan). They reside in Durango.
"My selection to the HOF is a complete honor and a tribute to all of the amazing friends and family that supported and molded my journey," said Duvall. "The FLC Hall of Fame is comprised of greatly accomplished athletes, dedicated contributors to the college, and high-class passionate individuals. It is very special to be thought of, and considered, in the same light as those Hall-of-Famers before me."
Tim Bieri
A four-year starter for the men's basketball program from 2003-07, Tim Bieri led the Skyhawks to the 2004-05 RMAC Regular Season Championship, two RMAC West Division titles and two appearances in the NCAA regional tournament. He ranks third in the career record book in scoring (1,691 points), steals (181), three-point field goals (208), fourth in blocked shots (141), fifth in field goals (590) and seventh in free throws (303).
He led the Skyhawks in blocked shots all four seasons. In 2006-07, he led the team in scoring (623 points), steals (54), free throws (124), field goals (211), and three-point field goals (77). As a junior the season before, he led FLC in scoring (510 points), rebounds (159), assists (73), steals (63), field goals (171) and three-point field goals (68).
From Berthoud, Colo., Bieri earned second team all-region and RMAC West Division Player of the Year honors. A two-time All-RMAC first team, RMAC All-Academic, All-RMAC West Division first team, Preseason All-RMAC and Preseason All-RMAC West Division honoree, Bieri also earned RMAC all-tournament team honors and was named the RMAC West Division Player of the Week seven times. He was voted the Troy Bledsoe Scholar Athlete and RMAC Honor Scholar Athlete as a senior in 2006-07.
Bieri received a degree in English from FLC in 2007.
He is the Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Women's Basketball Coach for Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. Tim and his wife, Sara, have a son Isaac, twins Asher and Bennett, and daughter Isabel (in Heaven).
"I am deeply humbled and honored to be added to the FLC Hall of Fame," said Bieri. "Fort Lewis played a huge role in the formative years of my life and I am forever thankful for the people who poured into my life during my four years in Durango. This selection is 100 percent due to my coaches, teammates, friends and family who supported, challenged, loved and encouraged me along the way."
Nicole (Schwab) Ohlinger
The only volleyball student-athlete to earn Daktronics and AVCA All-America honors, Nicole (Schwab) Ohlinger (2004-07) became only the second player in school history to be named the RMAC Player of the Year. She is also the only student-athlete to earn the honor twice, and the only Skyhawk in volleyball history to be named the RMAC Academic Player of the Year, the AVCA Division II Player of the Week, and to the RMAC All-Century Team. A two-time Daktronics Southwest Region Player of the Year, she was tabbed all-region twice by Daktronics and AVCA. A RMAC All-Academic First Team selection, Ohlinger was named All-RMAC First Team twice and RMAC Honorable Mention twice. A nine-time RMAC West Division Player of the Week, she earned the Jan Wilson-Hetzler Senior Woman Athlete of the Year in 2007-08.
From Loveland, Colo., Ohlinger left FLC as the career leader in kills (1,452), blocks (549) and consecutive sets played (416). She is second in the record books in hitting percentage (.285), fourth in total attempts (3,370), matches played (115) and sets played.
Ohlinger graduated from FLC in 2008 with a degree in Accounting.
A commercial casualty specialist for nationwide insurance in Denver, she is married to Travis Ohlinger. The two reside in Arvada, Colo. with their one-year old son, Cade.
"Playing volleyball at Fort Lewis was an amazing experience," said Ohlinger. "I met some lifelong friends while playing the sport I love. I'm extremely grateful to be selected to be part of the FLC Hall of Fame".
Jack Llewellyn
Jack Llewellyn served as the Director of Athletic Development for the Fort Lewis College Department of Athletics from 2000-07. During his time with the Skyhawks, he increased corporate partnership contributions by 111% in seven years while building relations with local businesses. His responsibilities as the Director of Athletic Development included obtaining radio sponsorships for radio coverage for Skyhawks teams competing in NCAA postseason tournaments, hosting the weekly radio show "Hawk Talk," working closely with coaches to assist with recruiting efforts, and redeveloping the corporate partner program to meet the needs of sponsors and supports.
A native of Arvada, Colo., Llewellyn maintained current sponsors and increased corporate sponsorship while reorganizing the Skyhawk Booster Club drive. A member of the Booster Club Board of Directors, Llewellyn also assisted in game day responsibilities, he served as the public address announcer for home games, and oversaw marketing and promotions for the department.
Since departing from FLC in 2007 to become the Executive Director of the Durango Chamber of Commerce, Llewellyn continues to stay involved with the FLC community by assisting in promoting Skyhawks events, programs and speaking at various classes.
A 1987 graduate of FLC with a degree in English Communications, Llewellyn resides in Durango with his wife, Cherie Morris.
"It is an honor to be selected into the Skyhawks Athletics Hall of Fame," said Llewellyn. "Fort Lewis College has provided me with the foundation for my career and will always be a place I call home. I salute the student-athletes, past and this year's class. They are truly the ones who dedicated so much as they attended classes, travelled, practiced and competed at a very high level in Division II athletics. Thank you to my family and friends who have given me the support over the years."
Longtime Faculty Athletic Representative Steve Stovall will receive the Special Achievement Citation award as part of the ceremony.
Steve Stovall
Stovall began his higher education teaching career at Fort Lewis College as an adjunct teacher in 1996-97 in the School of Business Administration. In 1997, he became a full-time faculty member and has held the role of FAR since the Spring of 2006. In 2008-09, he earned the Director of Athletics Appreciation Award and the Alice Admire Outstanding Teach Award. He has received eight Skyhawk Faculty Appreciation Awards from student-athletes.
"Being FAR has meant that I get to know some of the most wonderful people at FLC: staff, coaches, and all the student-athletes who inspire me to continue to try to be an athlete," said Stovall.
A devoted runner, Stovall plans to continue to train on a single lane dirt running track his wife had carved out around their farm.
The Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1979 with former Fort Lewis A&M Junior College basketball coach Ned Wallace as the inaugural inductee. Three others were added in 1981. The Hall of Fame was dormant from 1981-94, when then-Director of Athletics Bruce Grimes resurrected the program.
The Hall of Fame is in conjunction with Homecoming weekend and is open to the general public. Athletic alumni and, in particular, Athletic Hall of Famers are invited back to campus for the festivities. Homecoming weekend will feature five home games, beginning on Friday with the Skyhawks women's soccer team playing host to Colorado Mesa University at 3 p.m., followed by a volleyball match against Chadron State College at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Skyhawks football team will face off against Colorado State-Pueblo at 12 p.m. and the volleyball team will host Regis University at 5 p.m. The Skyhawks Homecoming Weekend will conclude Sunday afternoon with a women's soccer match at 1 p.m. against Westminster College.
