Fort Lewis College Softball Has Four Named to All-RMAC Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released its softball All-Conference teams on Friday with the Skyhawks seeing four athletes honored.

Katie Pippel, a junior from Woodinville, Washington, was named to the Second Team and has burst onto the scene in the second half of the season. Pippel has secured her spot in right field while growing comfortable in the top half of the batting order. She is second on the team with 22 RBI in conference play, picking up 28 hits and a team-high nine doubles along the way. She has been equally as clutch in the outfield, playing errorless softball all season long with 18 putouts and two assists.

Cara Daugherty was named to the Honorable Mention team after a sophomore season that saw her in both right and center field. Daugherty batted .293 in conference play with 27 hits and 17 RBI. She has 48 putouts and one assist after showcasing flexibility by changing positions midway through the season. Beyond her athletic abilities, Daugherty has grown into a vocal leader for the young Skyhawks team.

Cat Rodman earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team for her ability to not only play multiple position but play multiple positions well. Rodman is second on the team with a .331 batting average and 44 hits, nine doubles, and four homeruns. She's second on the roster with 23 RBI and leads the group with 13 walks and eight hit by pitch. Rodman is extremely active in left field and has showcased range and an uncanny ability to read the bat off the ball to make challenging plays look routine.

Alex Tenorio, a true freshman, was named to the Honorable Mention Team. Tenorio has been a human highlight reel both offensively and defensively this season. She holds a .327 batting average to go along with four homers and nine triples while scoring a team-high 33 runs. From her position at shortstop, Tenorio has 103 assists and has turned 10 double plays on the year.
