2024 (Redshirt Sophomore)
NFFCC Academic All-Colorado First-Team
RMAC Academic Honor Roll
Portela played in ten of the Skyhawks 11 games for the season... tied for the 5th-most tackles on the roster with 44 on the year, including 28 solo and 16 assisted tackles... made 2.0 tackles for three yards lost... also broke up his first career pass at Adams State (Nov. 2)... thrice racked up a career-high seven tackles, most recently at #24/NR Colorado School of Mines (Nov. 16)... thrice recorded five solo tackles... made his first career tackles for one yard loss against #16/14 CSU Pueblo (Oct. 12)... set a career-mark with five assisted tackles at #13/12 Western Colorado... picked up his first nod to the National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter's Academic All-Colorado First-Team alongside his second-straight RMAC Academic Honor Roll honor. 

2023 (Redshirt Freshman)

Started and played in one game and made his collegiate debut in the season-opener at William Jewell (Sep. 2)... registered his first career solo tackle against the Cardinals... also named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll list. 

2022 (Freshman)
Did not make any appearances for the Skyhawks... utilized a redshirt season. 

Prior to FLC: Four-year letterwinner and starter at cornerback at Sunrise Mountain High School... won the State Championship his junior year... named Team Captain senior year alongside earning Second Team All-Region honors.

Personal: Son to Carmen & Gabe Portela... has one sibling, Noah... pursuing his degree in Exercise and Health Promotion.
