Bill Mullane

William J. Mullane is one of two people to be inducted into the Fort Lewis College Athletic Hall of Fame both on his own standing and as a member of the Aggie football team that advanced to the 1949 Texas Junior Rose Bowl.

Between 1948 and 1950, Mr. Mullane earned two letters in football and basketball and another in baseball. He earned all-conference honors twice as a quarterback in football. After leaving Fort Lewis College, Mr. Mullane earned letters in football, baseball and golf from Colorado A&M in Fort Collins.

He would later earn a master's degree from Colorado College in 1971.

Mr. Mullane began a career in education in 1953 as a coach and teacher at St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs. From 1960 through his retirement in 1990, he worked for the Widefield School District in Colorado Springs. He was an elementary school principal in the Widefield District for 21 years.
