Troy Norton

A four-year starter and letterwinner as a point guard for the Raiders men's basketball team from 1989-93, Norton ranks second all-time in assists (455) and fourth in steals (180).  He shares the school record for most assists in one game with 15 at Metro State on Feb. 21, 1992.  He led the Raiders in assists during the 1989-90 (146), 1990-91 (133) and 1991-92 (128) seasons, and in steals in 1989-90 with 55.  In 1990-91, Norton recorded a team high in made three-point field goals with 33, and he held the team's highest free throw percentage, netting 71.1 percent of his free throws.
 
Norton earned All-RMAC honorable mention honors in 1990-91.
 
His older brother, Jeff Norton, was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997.
 
"I believe Troy is one of the best point guards to have ever played at Fort Lewis College," said former teammate and Hall of Fame member (2001) Tim Fitzpatrick. 
 
Norton is a 1994 alumnus of Fort Lewis College.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration – Tourism and Resort Management option, and a minor in computer science and marketing.
 
Norton resides in Broomfield, Colo. with his 11-year old son Trey Dekaine Lauth-Norton.
