Few junior college athletes made as big an impact on Fort Lewis A&M as quarterback Bill Wade. A two-year letter winner for the Aggies, Mr. Wade became an All-American in 1958 and was an alternate in the Junior College All-Star football game. He also earned first team all-conference honors that season after being named a second team all-conference performer as a freshman.

Mr. Wade finished his football career at Colorado State University, where he received all-conference honorable mention in 1960.

After receiving a bachelor of science degree from Colorado State in 1961, Mr. Wade began an eight-year career in junior high and high school education and athletics that included a three-year stint in Farmington, N.M. He was an assistant football coach and head track coach for the Scorpions from 1963 to 1965.

He also served on the alumni associations of both Fort Lewis College and Colorado State.
