Fans of Ron Trujillo can make a good case that he was one of the great quarterbacks who attended Fort Lewis College. A three-year starter for the Raiders, at the time of his induction, Mr. Trujillo had guided his team to the best finish in school history in 1976 when Fort Lewis College posted a 7-2 record.

He set nearly every school passing record during his four-year career from 1972 through 1976 (he red-shirted in 1975), although his younger brother Thad, who quarterbacked for Fort Lewis College from 1991 through 1994, has since rewritten the record books.

One school and conference record that his kid brother didn't touch was six touchdown passes in one game, which the elder Trujillo tossed against Western New Mexico in 1976.

Mr. Trujillo's heroics as a senior earned his first team All-RMAC, first team All-NAIA District VII, and honorable mention All-America awards.

He graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After one year as a business teacher and offensive coordinator at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Mr. Trujillo moved to Colorado Springs and entered the real estate business.
