Jack Lynch's dedication to athletics was just beginning when he earned All-America honors as a football player at Fort Lewis A&M as a sophomore in 1961.
Mr. Lynch, who earned a bachelor of science degree from Colorado State University in 1964 and a master's degree in secondary education administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972, has devoted his entire career to education and athletics.

As a teacher and coach from 1964 through 1972, Mr. Lynch worked closely with junior high and high school students in Aurora Public Schools. He became an administrator in Aurora in 1972, and had served as the director of athletics and activities for all Aurora schools. He also served as Gateway High School's director of athletics.

Mr. Lynch received the Distinguished Service Award from the Colorado Athletic Directors' Association in 1993 and was named the Colorado Athletic Director of the Year. He was also Colorado's nominee for the 1992 NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association) Distinguished Service Award, which was presented to the nation's top high school athletic administrator in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mr. Lynch served as a high school official for 18 years, and worked in nine state championship games. He officiated college football in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference from 1980 through 1995, and began officiating football in the Western Athletic Conference in 1992.
