Jennine McWilliams is widely regarded as one of the finest women's basketball players in school history, and for good reason.

She is one of the most decorated women's athletes to attend Fort Lewis College, receiving first team all-conference, first team all-district, academic all-conference and academic all-district honors for three straight seasons from 1983-84 through 1985-86. In 1984-85, Ms. McWilliams earned NAIA All-American honorable mention. She added the prestigious Colorado Sportswomen of the Year award for basketball in 1986. Ms. McWilliams was also her team's Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and senior, and won Fort Lewis College's Outstanding Female Athlete award both seasons.

A glance into the Fort Lewis College women's basketball record book shows her name next to a dozen school records.

Ms. McWilliams guided the Lady Raiders into uncharted waters as a senior, leading Fort Lewis College to its second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship in four years, its first-ever NAIA District VII title, and within two points of a Bi-District crown and a trip to the NAIA Nationals.

She played one season of professional basketball in Oslo, Norway, in 1986-87, and was her team's top scorer and rebounder. While in Norway, Ms. McWilliams coached a junior team to the gold medal in the national championships.
She returned to Fort Lewis College to receive her bachelor's degree in athletic training and coaching in 1987, and added her teacher certification from Fort Lewis College in 1990. She served as assistant women's basketball coach for the Lady Raiders in 1987 and again during the 1989-90 campaign.

In 1991, Ms. McWilliams became health and physical education teacher and head volleyball and head girl's basketball coach at Rifle High School. She took similar job as teacher and head basketball coach at Fairview High School in Boulder in 1992, where she coached for two seasons. She has also taught and coached at Angevine Middle School in the Boulder Valley School District.
