Frank Mascarenas*

Frank Mascarenas earned all-conference and third team All-America honors as a linebacker at Fort Lewis A&M in 1952 before being drafted into the U.S. Army.

After serving two years in Alaska, Mr. Mascarenas returned to Hesperus to continue his education and athletic career for the Aggies.

Mr. Mascarenas finished his playing days at Adams State, where he earned all-conference honors and graduated in 1958.

For the next 23 years, Mr. Mascarenas taught and coached all sports at Montezuma-Cortez High School. In 1981, he moved to Rangely, where his Panther football teams won their conference championship six of eight seasons.

After retiring from teaching and head coaching, he's continued his career as an assistant football coach at Palisade High School.
