Bill Noxon is one of two players to be inducted into the Fort Lewis College Athletic Hall of Fame as both an individual and as a member of the 1949 Texas Junior Rose Bowl football team.

Mr. Noxon lettered two years in football and basketball and one year in baseball while at Fort Lewis College. In 1949, as a member of the Aggie football team, he scored at least one touchdown in every regularly scheduled game and earned honorable mention all-conference accolades.

A successful high school and college football coach for 33 years in western Colorado, Mr. Noxon's teams posed an impressive record of 222-96-7 (.698). His 1966 Fruita team won the Colorado state championship, while his Fruita and Grand Junction teams won 11 conference championships; finishing second in state four of those years.

In 1971, Mr. Noxon became head football coach at Western State College and led the Mountaineers to a share of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title. His Mountaineer teams would win the next eight RMAC football championships and attain a third place national ranking on two occasions. He retired from coaching in 1984.
