One of the finest women's athletes of her era, Lori High played three years of volleyball and two of basketball during the formative years of women's intercollegiate athletics at Fort Lewis College.

During her three years of volleyball, the Raiders posted a 25-16 record against other four-year colleges. The team advanced to AIAW regional tournaments all three years. During her senior season, Fort Lewis College was placed into the "large school" tournament because of their success during the regular season, and faced teams like Brigham Young, Utah St., Arizona, Idaho St., and Northern Colorado.

Ms. High captained the volleyball squad in 1973 and 1974. She graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in physical education.

Ms. High returned to the program as acting head coach in 1979 when head coach Carol "Peppy" Seale took a maternity leave. Her 1979 spikers posted a solid 16-5 record against four-year colleges. The Raiders finished 5-3 that year in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, second to Southern Utah St. in the West Division. Her career winning percentage of .762 is among the best of the women who have coached volleyball at Fort Lewis College.
