Nobody played a more pivotal role in creating the Fort Lewis College soccer dynasty than Dickinson, who was a four-year started and letter winner from 1991-94. Dickinson led the Raiders to the 1993 Colorado Athletic Conference championship — the first in a string of six league titles in eight years. He earned first team All-CAC accolades as a junior and senior and was chosen to the third team NSCAA-Umbro All-West Region squad in 1993. A versatile player, he still ranks among the school's career leaders in career points (20th, 36).

Dickinson also built the foundation for Skyhawk soccer's outstanding reputation in the classroom. Twice he was named a first team NSCAA/Adidas All-West Region Scholar-Athlete-a squad that features players from all levels of NCAA and NAIA soccer. Dickinson also earned Academic All-CAC honors three times.

Dickinson graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor's degree in business administration/finance in 1996.
