Liz Palmer, a four-year letter winner in volleyball from 1985-89, was the captain on Fort Lewis College's first-ever RMAC volleyball championship team. She epitomized the student-athlete, excelling both on the court and in the classroom.

Palmer became the first and Fort Lewis College Volleyball player to earn Academic All-America recognition when she was chosen as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 1988. She was also the Fort Lewis College female recipient of the RMAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award as a junior and senior.

Palmer served as captain of the 1988 Raider team that posted a 38-5 overall record and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. She earned first team All-RMAC and All-NAIA District VII honors that season.
