He earned first team Kodak and American Football Coaches Association All America honors in 1989, first team NAIA All-America accolades in 1990, and second team Associated Press Little All-America and Dr. C.M. Frank Small University All-America awards in 1992.

Fadness was also a three-time first team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection, receiving that distinction in 1989, 1990, and 1992. He earned All-RMAC honorable mention in 1991.
