Chrystal (Pesicka) Schmitten played softball for the Skyhawks from 1995-98.
A solid defensive shortstop, she was one of the most feared hitters in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference softball and ranks among FLC’s career leaders in nearly every hitting and fielding category.
She earned All-RMAC recognition three times during her career, including first team accolades in 1997 and honorable mention in 1996 and ’98. Schmitten was also a two-time FLC Most Valuable Player, in 1997 and ’98.
She became the first softball player to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
Schmitten graduated from Fort Lewis with a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2000.
She and her husband, Phil, a former Skyhawk football player, live in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
