Although he was small for a lineman, Edward Schenck had enough strength and heart to earn first-team All-America honors for the Aggies in 1956. He averaged between 15 and 20 tackles per game during his career at Fort Lewis College, lining up on the defensive line or at a middle linebacker position.

Mr. Schenck continued his playing career at New Mexico State, where he became an all-conference guard.

Mr. Schenck returned home to Farmington, N.M., in 1964 and began a career as a firefighter. In 1978 he was promoted to Captain for Fire Prevention and Inspection for Safety. In 1981 he became Safety Officer and Claims Evaluator for the City of Farmington.

Mr. Schenck was inducted into the Farmington High School Athletics and Activities All of Fame in 1992.
