"I am absolutely overwhelmed by this induction," said Guy.  "The best working years of my life were spent at Fort Lewis College and thanks to Facebook, I stay in contact with a lot of people from there. And I especially enjoy seeing my athletes grow up and become adults and having kids.  It is such a joy to me.  Thanks so very very much to all of those who were responsible for this nomination."

A highly respected member of the Fort Lewis College community for many years, Guy held various positions at the College.  She served as the Assistant Registrar from 1992-2001, and served as the Assistant Athletic Director from 2001 until her retirement in 2003. A committed member of the Fort Lewis College community, Guy demonstrated strong leadership skills, professionalism, enthusiastic school spirit and was a model citizen who represented Fort Lewis College with impeccable integrity and pride.

Affectionately known as Grandma Skyhawk, Guy demonstrated amplified Skyhawk spirit.  Thus her transition into Assistant Athletic director was a perfect fit for her and the Athletic Department.

"Dona was my first hire as Director of Athletics at FLC and from day one, a great fit," said former Skyhawk Director of Athletics and current Durango High School Director of Athletics Dave Preszler.  "She was always positive and up-beat with a contagious smile, a super communicator with a big heart and was a fantastic academic advisor to all of the FLC student-athletes.  She is the one and only Grandma Skyhawk!"

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Dona since 1989, as a friend, FLC staff member, an employee and a co-worker," said Kim Wall.  "From the day I met Dona she became a mentor, role model and an amazing women whom I looked up to.  Dona was one of the first people I met as a new Fort Lewis College student.  She made the entire transition into college life a lot easier for myself and many others as well.  Dona would often put the needs of others before her own.  She is the complete definition and model of impeccable service to others.  Dona was always a very dedicated member of the Fort Lewis College community and improved the lives of those she came into contact with.  She is an amazing women who is highly regarded by many."
